Astrodynes

Measurement is the foundation of modern science and Hermetic astrology developed a set of calculations to measure the strength and functionality of each planet, aspect, sign and house in any birth chart.

The calculations are called astrodynes.

They’re a mathematical tool for measuring power, harmony or discord.

They were initialized from fundamental astrological principles that represent the analysis data and use an interval scale where each astrodyne unit possesses the same amount of power.

The minimum amount of power is zero.

The calculations quantify the power, harmony or discord possessed by the planets, aspects, signs and house in your birth chart and information like this enhances the reliability of your astrological judgments.

If used to measure your birth chart twice the astrodynes will give the same numerical values to each planet, aspect, sign and house. In this respect their reliability is absolute.

But their validity is primarily determined by the degree to which they measure what they’re supposed to be measuring – your character.

This is difficult to test as your character is a subjective experience.

It requires high-level self-awareness and cannot be tested by a third party.

All measurement involves some degree of error but the main potential for error with the astrodynes is an incorrect birth time – even by seconds – or an incorrect birthplace.

An approximate or imprecise birth time must result in a chart and astrodyne profile that’s unreliable and misleading.

Astrodynes measure astrological power

An astrodyne is a unit of astrological power.

The power measurement quantifies as x number of astrodynes the strength of each planet, aspect, sign and house in your birth chart.

More astrodyne power ups the potential.

An astrodyne is not an absolute measurement.

Astrodynes give a percentage description to each planet, aspect, sign and house in your chart.

They can be presented in graph form.

They are not a test that needs to be validated.

The P-value paradox is the observation that the astrodyne power of a chart does not act as a guide to personal accomplishment and social usefulness.

Astrodyne power reveals an energy potential that cannot be used to judge a chart’s success potential.

Other factors, particularly the environmental setting in which the chart operates, influence how much the energy mapped in the chart will achieve.

The astrodynes have interpretative properties, but the numbers can’t measure intelligence or ability improvement. And they can’t measure things like success and competence either.

Harmodynes measure astrological harmony

A harmodyne is a unit of astrological harmony.

And the harmony embedded in a planet, aspect, sign or house in your birth chart is measured as x number of harmodynes.

Harmony marks for pleasant states of consciousness and fortunate events.

Harmonious energy is effective and rewarding.

The character factors corresponding to the harmonious planets, aspects and signs in your birth chart have the same level of harmony as their markers.

More harmony ups the potential for good fortune, but excess harmony as too much ease and comfort does not support the development of a strong character.

Discordynes measure astrological discord

A discordyne is a unit of astrological discord.

And the discord embedded in a planet, aspect, sign or house in your birth chart is measured as x number discordynes.

Discord marks for unpleasant (painful) states of consciousness and unfortunate events.

Discordant energy is ineffective and unrewarding.

The character factors corresponding to the discordant planets, aspects and signs in your birth chart have the same level of discord as their markers.

But discord is not fixed and can be neutralized, changed or modified.

More discord ups the potential for struggle, mishap and misfortune, but overcoming problems and difficulties builds strength of character.
