Major progressions

Major progressions are also called secondary progressions.

They’re the day for a year progressions.

The planets movement during one solar day or 24 hours equates to one year.

So, as the planets in your chart progress their movement during one solar day equates to one year in the life.

And as they progress they form progressed aspects with birth chart and other progressed planets.

Your progressed chart for a selected date displays your major progressions.

They define major events and a wide time-frame during which they can occur.

Major progressed aspects

A major progressed aspect has a wide time-frame and a start, peak and finish date.

The start date indicates the day, month and year when a progressed planet moves to within 1 degree of an aspect with a birth chart or other progressed planet.

On this date the thought-cell activity mapped by the two planets involved in the aspect gets turned on.

At this time the aspect has half its peak power yet major events pertaining to the aspect can occur.

The peak date indicates the day, month and year when the progressed aspect is at its peak power, harmony or discord.

At this time the not-conscious thought-cell activity is at its most active so the major event mapped by the progressed aspect is very inclined to occur around this date.

The end date indicates the day, month and year when the progressed aspect finishes.

At this time the aspect has half its peak power and harmony or discord yet events pertaining to the aspect can occur.

When a progressed aspect ends the thought-cell activity mapped by the two planets involved in the aspect gets turned off.

A major progressed planet has half the power of its birth chart correlate.

Important events signified by a major progressed aspect can only occur between its start and end dates.

Sub-major Moon progressions

Of all the planets the Moon has the fastest rate of motion so its zodiacal (not parallel) progressed aspects have a relatively short two-month duration.

It does not have the same power as the other major progressed planets which reduces its capacity to attract major life events.

So the events that a major Moon progression can attract are designated as sub-major.

But it’s regularly observed that when the major progressed Moon forms an aspect with a birth chart or progressed planet that’s involved in a major progressed aspect that the stimulation it provides fine-tunes the timing of the major life event this aspect maps.

In this instance the major progressed Moon acts as an energizer mapping a short two month time-frame during which the character factors desiring the major event are at a tipping point of peak stimulation.

So a sub-major Moon progression can map a sub-major event or fine-tune the timing of a major life event.

And the Horoscope chart calculation program calculates – for the date you select – all the major progressed aspects in your chart and their start, peak and finish dates.
