As above, so below

You’re living in an age of great change and uncertainty.

The brightest minds on the planet haven’t got a clue about what’s going on.

There’s a new agenda but the politicians, business leaders and scientists are driving without a road map.

Some are guided by altruistic ideals, but greed, selfishness and evil impulses are often in the driver’s seat.

There have been more changes in the past 100 years than in the preceding 5,000 and the world today simply represents the outcome so far.

Solving problems is very often a rear-vision exercise.

History it seems is a text book packed with fundamentals – a ready reference full of solutions – and world leaders and historians look to history to find old solutions for new problems.

They assume that humanity’s story is a series of repeating events that can be assessed and analyzed retrospectively.

The past is used as a learning tool, but while the psychological forces driving human behavior remain the same the thoughts, feelings and impulses operate in a constantly changing environment.

History is not a repeating cycle of familiar events and situations.

Levels of danger, risk, discord and suffering vary greatly.

The 24/7 news cycle

You’re living in a fantastic, fast moving world.

There’s a non-stop 24/7 news cycle and New Age technology keeps you posted on local, national and international events.

With social media you’re an active participant.

But participating in the news cycle doesn’t mean you understand what’s going on.

The reporters, journalists and expert commentators can’t explain why we’ve got the world we’ve got.

Historians and politicians examine the past to find explanations.

Precedent allows them to navigate current dilemmas in the light of previous experience and to avoid repeating the same old mistakes.

It doesn’t help.

And science works with chaos theory.

So how do you explain and understand the world today?

As above, so below

The great Hermetic axiom – as above, so below – proclaims a mighty fundamental law: That a code or set of instructions written in the sky influences events and developments here on Earth.

It’s a breathtaking, awe-inspiring claim.

It asserts that the heavens above – glorious, precise and regular – provide life on Earth with a developmental code.

And what happens down here replicates an ever-unfolding potential that’s written in the sky.

So Hermetic science proposes there’s a guiding principle: As in the sky, so on the Earth.

It means that every event and development down here – the good, the fortunate and beautiful and the bad, unfortunate and ugly – has its correspondence in the sky.

It means the planets and zodiac signs represent natural law and now, for the first time, they’ve been scientifically studied and investigated to discern the role they play in the events and developments that occur here on Earth.

So when it comes to understanding the world today there’s a simple, basic fundamental principle you can employ: As above, so below.
