Minor progressions are the month for a year progressions. The planets movement each 28 days after your birth equal one year in your life.
Transit progressions are the planets positions in the sky each day after your birth.
A major progressed aspect is formed by a progressed planet and a birth chart or another progressed planet. It maps a major event. The aspect has a long timeframe and the major event it maps can occur when it’s stepped-up and reinforced by a minor progressed aspect.
A major progressed aspect formed by a major progressed planet and birth chart Moon is a major a progressed aspect.
A major progressed aspect supplies the thought-cells mapped by the aspecting planets with enough energy to attract a major event.
Observation indicates that on average a major progressed aspect formed by the major progressed Moon and a birth chart or major progressed planet only attracts an event that is 1/7th as important as that attracted by a similar major progressed aspect formed by the other major progressed planets.
A sub-major event mapped by a major Moon aspect is not as important a major event. Its importance is about midway between an event indicated by a major progressed aspect and one indicated by a minor progressed aspect.
A minor progressed aspect to a birth chart or progressed planet involved in a major progressed aspect steps up the major aspect mapping a peak of energy and a short timeframe during which the major event it maps can occur.
A minor progressed aspect involving a minor progressed planet and a birth chart or major progressed planet not involved in a major progressed aspect can map an independent minor event.
An independent minor event is a minor event that is not associated with a major event. It coincides with a characteristic minor progressed aspect.
Preliminary minor occurrences leading up to and resulting from a major event are mapped by minor progressed planets forming minor progressed aspects to the planets involved in the major progressed aspect.
Minor events can often be useful in anticipating the kind of major event that is approaching and when it is likely to occur.
Transit progressions like minor progressions have two distinct functions.
A transit progression to a planet involved in a major progressed aspect that’s being stepped up by a minor progression can time a major event; or a transit progressed aspect to a birth chart or progressed planet not involved in a major progressed aspect can map an independent inconsequential event.
Minor occurrences associated with a major event are timed by transit progressed aspects to one of the planets involved in the major progressed aspect.
Inconsequential events are mapped and timed by transit progressed aspects to birth chart and progressed planets.

Major, sub-major, minor and inconsequential events
The only difference to be observe in the influence of a major progression, a sub-major progression, a minor progression and a transit progression is in the relative amount of structural change taking place in your astral body and consequently the volume of energy being provided the thought-cells over and above their normal amount as indicated by your birth chart.
An event’s importance is determined by the volume of energy received and the thought-cell activity that results so major progressed aspects provide the thought-cell with enough additional energy to attract a major event; a major Moon progression provides enough additional energy to attract a sub-major event; an independent minor progressed aspect provides enough energy to attract a minor event; and an independent transit progressed aspect supplies enough energy to attract an inconsequential event.
A major progressed aspect adds a large amount of accessory energy to the thought-cells corresponding to the aspecting planets so you can count on them to attract a major life-changing event.
Like going to school, leaving school, finding work, earning money, getting marriage, buying a home, becoming a parent, getting a promotion, losing employment, a religious conversion and doing time behind bars.
Most major events do not drop unheralded out of the blue. Commonly there are preliminary minor occurrences or developments leading up to it; and after the major event there are frequently minor occurrences resulting from it. These are mapped by minor progressed aspects to the planets involved in the major progressed aspect.
So, you didn’t get up one morning and board a plane to take an overseas holiday. Before taking the trip you saw a travel agent, got a passport, bought your ticket, organized your wardrobe and luggage and arranged overseas accommodation etc. The overseas trip was mapped by the major progressed aspect and the preliminary minor occurrences were mapped by minor progressed aspects as they reinforced the major progressed aspect.
A promotion at work is a major Sun significance event; an award for achievement is a minor Sun event; and praise from the boss is an inconsequential Sun event.
A broken leg is a major Mars accident event; a cut requiring stitches is a minor Mars event; and a scratch to the knee is an inconsequential Mars event.
If you recall your Saturn loss events you can easily categorize them as major, sub-major, minor and inconsequential.
In each instance the event characterized by the planet differs in its importance.
