Explainer: Forecast periods in global astrology
The major events that get the news media’s attention each day replicate the quality of the astral energies being released by the planets in the sky, the major cycle charts and the Aquarian Age chart. The dominant planetary energies place their signatures on events and trends here on Earth.
The world today
Mars makes haste and speeds things up; Jupiter counts the financial cost; Saturn puts safety first; Uranus chaffs under the constraints of convention, craves freedom and independence, and never submits to tradition or precedent; Neptune exaggerates and punches the situation up; and Pluto stifles progress through division and disunity.
99% of the events that get media attention reflect social trends and the general state of the world. Some initiate change but things mostly stay the same.
Countries feud and fight. Aggressor nations flex their muscles. Allies hold joint military drills practicing for war. Diplomats get expelled. And if they do they’re only words. A news story about a bad actor gives them five seconds of notoriety although it’s good to know that the good actors are chasing them down and serving the cause of justice. The major astro-events in May 2023 to watch
Mars parallel Pluto in the sky (May 13) and in the Mars cycle (May 14); and Mars opposition Pluto in the Mars cycle (May 17) and in the sky (May 21) forecast an escalation in the fighting in Ukraine and mass shootings in America. The high discord, Mars-Pluto energy mix sign posts danger, coercive aggression, war mongering, threats, intimidation, fury and rage, missile launches, ghastly crimes, accidents involving groups of people and hate crimes.
Jupiter square Pluto in the Jupiter cycle (May 8), and Jupiter parallel Saturn in the sky (May 17) and square Pluto in the sky (May 18), will put the financial-banking sector under great pressure all month. There won’t be a shortage of bad financial events requiring expert financial analysis. It’s a dangerous moment for the filthy rich and Judge Clarence Thomas.
With Uranus active all month there’s widespread unrest and civil disobedience with protestors on the streets and strikes disrupting daily life.
And progressed Saturn square Pluto in the Saturn cycle (May 2) forecasts a security crisis, division within the European Union, economic gangsterism, ultraconservative coercion, fear, terror and disastrous weather events. This is as bad as gets – May 2023 will be a terrible month.

Long-time leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan who brought stability to the country has become increasingly autocratic – stifling dissent and censoring internet access. He’s pretty weird, essentially a dictator and rules by fear. Turkey is recovering from a major earthquake and has galloping inflation. He’s doing all he can to stay in power – trying to shut down one of the main opposition parties – but if the vote is free and fair he could lose.
