By July 7 the US military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan was essentially complete and on August 15, 2021 the Taliban moved into Kabul. After nearly 20 years of war Afghanistan fell in 10 days. Cataclysmic change (Uranus) occurred faster (Mars) than the experts had expected.
The Pentagon’s top military officer, General Mark Milley (Mars) had told reporters that the US intelligence community estimated that if the US forces withdrew, it would be weeks, months, even years before the Afghan military fell to the Taliban. Mars and Uranus had other ideas.
