On February 24, 2022 the in-sky Mars-Pluto conjunction that culminated on March 3 came down to Earth. The pictures on your television screen brought its sky-script to life. The destruction, devastation, brutality, suffering and death were horrific. It seems that when Mars and Pluto go to war in the 21st Century there are no limits to the horror. The energy-events initial impact and forecast period ends March 17.
Vladimir Putin started the war in Ukraine. No one knows when or how it will end, but Mars conjunction Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus in the sky over the coming months will write sequential chapters in the story.
On March 15, as Mars conjunction Pluto in the sky ends, Mars conjunction Saturn starts. It reaches peak power on April 5, 2022 and during its forecast period – chapter 2 in the Russia-Ukraine war story – the destructive violence and horrendous suffering that Mars conjunction Pluto ignited is sure to continue.
Mars is the planet of war, violence, brutality and cruelty and all the destructive weapons that are used to destroy and kill. (Neptune rules chemical weapons; Pluto rules nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction; and Neptune and Pluto rule biological weapons.)
Saturn is the planet of fear, safety, security, grief and anguish and Mars conjunction Saturn in the sky – from March 15 to April 21 – forecasts are torrent of bombs, missiles, death, despair, hardship and loss.
Mars and Saturn are square Moon forecasting civilian destruction.
Security is a key issue as nations take steps to prepare and protect themselves from war and other dangers like climate change and disease.
Their primary motivator is fear of the Ukraine conflict escalating and nuclear weapons. Putin – born October 7, 1952 – has the Sun in close conjunction with Saturn – the planet of fear – and he won’t hesitate to play the fear card; and with Mars trine Pluto he’s the world’s leading expect, among many experts, at using threats, warnings and intimidation to elevate the level of fear. It’s what he does to do and get what he wants.
Mars conjunction Saturn and continental Europe
Continental Europe comprises 44 countries. At the northwestern end is the United Kingdom and Portugal and at the eastern end is Ukraine.
The European Union comprises 27 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
European nations that border Russia are Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Lithuania.
EU countries that border Russia are Finland and Poland.
NATO – North Atlantic Treaty Organisation – has 30 member countries > all the EU countries except Cyprus, Finland, Ireland and Malta; plus Canada, Iceland, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Turkey, the UK and America.
The former USSR comprised Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine.
And all the countries in continental Europe from the UK in the west to Ukraine in east and from Norway, Sweden and Finland in the north to Greece in the south have Mars conjunction Saturn in house 1 (the welfare and safety of their civilian populations) of their in-sky Mars-Saturn conjunction charts.
So the war enters a dangerous new phase and there’s wanton destruction and a humanitarian crisis. Europe is drenched in anger and fear, Ukraine is a magnet for foreign fighters, and there’s a shortfall of weapons – a shortage of bombs and missiles – and foods, medical supplies and medicines.
Countries are sending weapons to bolster Ukraine’s self-defence, the refugee exodus escalates, sanctions on Russia ramp up, the Russian economy tanks, disease is rampant and one angry, misguided missile could send the war crisis spiralling out of control.

Mars is the cusp ruler of house 8 (death and debt) and Saturn is the cusp ruler of house 11 (Russia’s parliament) and house 12.
We forecast that Russia will suffer major losses on the battle field and big disappointments. Brutal sanctions will devastate Russia’s economy. It will be isolated – a pariah nation on planet Earth. But whether the military losses and economic carnage brings Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine to an end remains to be seen but you never know.
