Saturn the second largest planet has the most extensive rings in the solar system. They’re made mostly of chunks of ice and small amounts of carbonaceous dust and stretch out more than 120,700 km from the planet.
It has a cold and selfish astral vibration that is self-interest motivated and its cautious and self-centered desire ensures that nothing is given to others, and that even in the smallest way no one will out do it at the bargaining table.
Saturn is fenced in by fear, greed and selfishness but what it overlooks is that a fence which prevents anything from getting out can quite as effectively keep anything that is good and beneficial from getting in.
When you think Saturn, think security. In a dangerous (Mars) world national and personal security is the chief issue. But in 2025 the fear that Saturn instills in people’s minds makes them a little insane. It dominates their thinking and motivates their actions. Countries are driven to form security alliances. World leaders travel with their bodyguards.
That said, Saturn is acquisitive, persistent, crafty, cunning, cautious, patient and willing to wait a long time for its plans to mature.
It limits, delays, withdraws, suspends, excludes, closes and slows things down. It’s the planet of restriction. It restricts the cash flow, the demand for raw materials and immigration, but not the flow of bitter criticism.
When active Saturn forecasts economic contraction, deficits, bankruptcies, lower prices, lower wages, retrenchments, a scarcity of work, unemployment, homelessness, unusual hardship, destitution and poverty.
Saturn is the feeling of loss after losing a job, business deal or court case and/or money, property and personal possessions.
It rules land and its acquisition or loss, the coastline, borders, state borders, boundaries, real estate, building projects, raw materials, basic commodities (sugar, grain, gasoline), the Department of Agriculture and measures to protect natural resources.
It’s the planet of tariffs, sanctions, bounties, penalties and fines and it stresses conservative policies, economy, and efficiency of government and business.
It rules system and order but in 2025-2026 disruptor countries – America, Russia and China – with incompatible ambitions and different world views are intent on changing bits and pieces of the current world order.
And Saturn, the planet of self-preservation, selfish ambition, fear and insecurity, rules disease, aches, pains, tiredness, the elderly, senior citizens, old age pensioners and 79-year-old Donald Trump.
Saturn in 2025-26
Within weeks of Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025 it became apparent that Saturn was going to take center-stage on planet Earth.
His conservative agenda involving tariffs, government efficiency, job cutbacks, the acquisition of Gaza and an end to the war in Ukraine has Saturn’s signature. He likes autocrats, authoritarianism and is talking about territorial expansion (imperialism) and it’s all happening with Saturn exceptionally active in his chart, America’s chart, the Aquarian Age chart, the United Nations chart and the sky.
In Trump’s chart Saturn in house 11 is square Jupiter in house 2 and in 2025-26 progressed Sun in house 1 is semisquare birth chart Saturn > peak power date is September 9, 2025 > end date October 7, 2026; and progressed ascendant is square progressed Saturn > peak power date is September 13, 2025 > end date is March 27, 2027.
Saturn is co-ruler of house 7 – the other country and international community – and in 2025-26 progressed Saturn is semisquare birth chart Uranus, the radical, disruptive co-ruler of house 7.
These discordant progressions do not favor success in his various Saturn undertakings and proposals and he’s likely to experience loss.
And with progressed Midheaven conjunction birth chart and progressed Pluto in his chart > peak power dates are July 2, 2025 and October 25, 2027 > it’s highly likely that groups of countries will gang up on him to thwart his coercive economic practices and he’ll experience the same coercion he delights in dishing out. (The transatlantic divide [Pluto] between the EU and America is massive.)
In America’s chart progressed Sun is parallel birth chart Saturn and birth chart Neptune; and progressed Jupiter is square (obstacle) birth chart Saturn.
In the Aquarian Age chart progressed Sun is sextile birth chart Saturn > peak power date is November 21, 2025 > end date is December 9, 2026. The sextile aspect maps an opportunity that favors deals and negotiations aimed at international security but it activates a birth chart Sun-Saturn square so self-interest and greed are the obstacles hindering genuine progress.
And progressed Sun semisquare progressed Saturn starts May 26, 2025 > peak power date is July 29, 2026 > end date is October 1, 2027.
In the United Nations chart the Sun in house 7 (disputes and war) is square birth chart Saturn in house 4 (land and territories) and in 2025-26 progressed Sun is opposition progressed Saturn > peak power date is February 23 > end date is January 1, 2026; and parallel progressed Saturn > peak power date is August 19, 2025 > end date June 2030.
The discord favors loss for the world’s 196 nations rather than global progress through cooperative effort.
Saturn is conjunction Sun in the 2025 and 2026 Sun cycle charts and the in-sky Saturn-Neptune conjunction will script significant global moments.
Saturn’s hardline nationalistic self-interest is the driver but its ambition, acquisitiveness and cunning could be focused on bigger issues like global power and world dominance. And a cold, self-centered Saturn world motivated by selfishness and greed is a frightful prospect.
Neptune’s utopian thinking can be deceptive, impractical and intriguing. Its idealistic schemes are often unwise and unsound. They can be secretive plots grounded in deception, half-truths, mixed-messaging, overstatement and duplicity. Whatever, its tendency to exaggerate expectations inclines towards nothing of great consequence eventuating.
Their in-sky conjunction is at peak power on February 20,2026 and Mars in the sky is conjunction Saturn April 19, 2026
The world keeps changing, not always for the better, but whether the 2025-26 Saturn-Neptune conjunction can deliver an extraordinary moment like the 1989 Saturn-Neptune conjunctions did remains to be seen.
