July 15: In Florida Judge Aileen Cannon (Jupiter-house 9) dismisses the US justice department’s classified documents case against Donald Trump on the grounds that special council Jack Smith was improperly appointed.

The International Court of Justice (Jupiter) in a 12-3 ruling finds that Israel’s continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territory is unlawful and should come to an end ‘as rapidly as possible’. It found that Israel is forcibly displacing Palestinians from their lands, exploiting water sources, annexing large swaths of the occupied territory ‘by force’ and is violating the right of Palestinians to ‘self-determination’.

In Bangladesh the Supreme Court (Jupiter-house 9) rolls back most of the controversial quotas on government jobs which sparked violent student protests (Mars-Uranus) for two weeks.

In California the largest wildfire (Mars) in the US swells to over 600 square miles, bigger than the city of Los Angeles, as more than 5,500 firefighters (Mars) battle the blaze (Mars) in a wilderness area north of Sacramento. August 18: In Libya the Tripoli-based central bank (Jupiter), the only internationally recognised depository for Libyan oil revenues (house 2), shuts down all operations and will not resume work until a kidnapped (Pluto) senior bank official (Jupiter) is released.

August 19: At Sabina Shoal, about 140km (86 miles) west of the Philippine Island of Palawan, ships (Jupiter) from China and the Philippines collide (Mars) during a confrontation (Mars) in the disputed (Mars) South China Sea, with each blaming the other for the incident.
