Venus is the planet of women and women’s issues and in November 2013 progressed Venus moved to form a conjunction aspect with progressed Saturn in the Aquarian Age chart. Saturn is the planet of security and conservatism.
It reached peak power in February 2018 and brought the role of orthodoxy and tradition in the lives of women and their need to be protected from abusive partners into prominence.
Its story involved women’s right in developing countries – reproductive rights – family planning – safe motherhood – abortion – reproductive health support – female genital mutilation – and funding cuts.
In 2018, according to UN global estimates, around 830 women die each day in pregnancy and child birth – roughly one every two minutes.
Its story focused on sexism – gender inequality – poverty – homelessness – educational disadvantage – exploitation – violence against women – and justice for girls.
It highlighted the role of religious orthodoxy and ancient traditions in defining what a woman could and couldn’t do; and it revealed the abuse that women kept silent about and triggered a social revolution.
On October 10, 2017 – just prior to Venus conjunction Saturn reaching peak power – The New Yorker magazine publishes an article with 13 women allegedly harassed by Harvey Weinstein; and on October 15, actress Alyssa Milano starts #MeToo hashtag which is tweeted over half a million times overnight.
And on January 1, 2018 – with Mars conjunction Jupiter in the sky – 300 high-profile women launch the Time’s Up campaign.
Progressed Venus conjunction progressed Saturn ended February 3, 2021.
Violence against women
#Metoo and Time’s Up are social movements targeting sexual violence but domestic violence impacts women and girls in all societies; and for women Mars parallel Venus is a fight against gender-based violence.
Every country – France, Australia, India, Pakistan, Syria, Russia and America to a name a few – has its violence against women problem and around the globe women are fighting back.
Femicide and other forms of gender-based violence
Femicide is usually defined as the murder of a woman by a partner, ex-partner or family member; and according to data released by the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime in 2018 an average of 137 women across the world are killed by a partner or family member every day.
More than half of the 87,000 women killed in 2017 died at the hands of a relative or partner. The home is the most likely place for a woman to be killed.
It’s a global problem with women in Africa and El Salvador being most at risk.
In Spain abused women are protected by female body guards.
France has one of the highest rates of murders linked to domestic violence in Western Europe and in November 2019 marches to condemn femicide and other forms of gender-based violence were held in dozens of French cities.
Using the hashtag #NousToutes (All of Us), protesters accused the authorities of turning a blind eye to the problem.
Mars parallel Venus forecasts social strife, sexual violence and raging women.
In 2020 governments are being forced into taking action to protect women from the uncivilized, barbaric behavior that’s perpetrated against them by some men.
