The Sun dominates Harris’ chart. It’s in the third decanate of Libra so the special feature of her I balance individuality is her brilliant mind and keen interest in literature and people. But she can be tempted to use her mental cleverness to unfair advantage and if she does her wrong doing will get found out and she’ll suffer expiation.

The Moon is in the third decanate of Aries so her I am mentality is defined by propaganda and she promotes and advocates the principles of the Democratic Party. Her innate restlessness and mental enthusiasm should be channeled into fighting disadvantage and oppression and helping the weak and less privileged.

Mercury is in the first decanate of Scorpio so her I desire mental activity and way of communicating is hallmarked by dogged resourcefulness. When she harnesses her thoughts, ideas and aspirations to her sex drive she gets spurred into action; and her tendency to be preoccupied with sensual pleasure (Sun and Mercury are in house 5) should be channeled into constructive creative endeavor.

And with her ascendant in the third decanate of Gemini her I think personality is defined by reason. Harris is a natural born thinker but her heavy reliance on deductive reasoning can narrow her emotional vision. Her story

Kamala Harris became a lawyer, politician and the 32nd Attorney General of California.

Her mother was a prominent breast cancer researcher and her father was a Stanford University economics professor. They divorced when she was 7.

At age 12 she moved with her mother to Montreal, Québec, Canada; and in 1981 graduated from Westmont High School, Quebec. She then attended Howard University in Washington D.C. and majored in political science and economics.

In the 1990s, she worked in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office and the office of the City Attorney of San Francisco.

In 2004, Harris was elected District attorney of San Francisco and served from 2004 to 2011; and in 2008, she was seen as one of a number of women who could become president of the United States.

In 2009, she published Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer.

In 2010 and 2014 she was elected California’s Attorney General and served from 2011 to 2017. In 2016 she ran in the Senate election and on November 8, 2016 became California’s third female senator.

On January 21, 2019, she officially announced her campaign to run for the Democratic nomination for US President in the 2020 United States presidential election vowing to fight for the ‘largest middle class tax cut in a generation.’ (Saturn in her chart – the planet of cuts – is the cusp ruler of house 8 [taxes]).

She supports gun control, same-sex marriage and LGBT rights.

Harris is married to California attorney Douglas Emhoff.

She needs 1,885 votes to win the Democrat nomination but if she loses the winner will need a vice-presidential running mate.

In early December 2019 Harris dropped out of the presidential race and in an article update we explained:

December 3, 2019: Harris announces she is dropping out of the presidential race due to a lack (Saturn) of funds (house 8). Progressed Midheaven in her chart was sextile birth chart Saturn – the cusp ruler of house 8; and progressed Moon was sextile progressed Saturn from October 10 to December 1, 2019 stimulating the house 8 difficulties.

Joe Biden went on to win the Democrat presidential nomination and on August 11, 2020 he picked Kamala Harris as his running mate.
