October 2, 2023: New York attorney general Letitia James’s lawsuit (house 7) against Donald Trump (house 1) and his three adult children (house 5) and the Trump Organization (house 10) starts.
The lawsuit follows a three-year investigation into whether Trump and his company (house 10) manipulated (Neptune-Pluto) property values (house 4) to obtain investments and tax and loan benefits (house 8).
Trial update: On August 30, 2023: New York’s attorney general Letitia James asks a state judge to declare, even before the start of a trial, that Donald Trump committed fraud by submitting false statements to bankers and insurers and overstating his net worth by up to $2.23 billion. She says evidence in her civil case showed ‘repeated and persistent fraudulent use’ by Trump and his family business of false and misleading financial statements from 2011 to 2021.
September 26: Judge Arthur Engoron (Jupiter-house 10) in New York finds Donald Trump and his company committed fraud (Neptune) by inflating (Neptune) his net worth in business transactions for over a decade. The decision limits the scheduled October 2 trial to largely how much the defendants should pay in damages. The judge also ordered the cancellation of business certificates for the Trump Organization and other corporate defendants, and sanctioned Trump’s lawyers for contributing to their clients’ “obstreperous” conduct and making “preposterous” legal arguments during the case.
The case is a bench trial. The judge presiding over the trial gives the findings and he said it could take as long as three months to hear the case.

January 15, 2024: Donald Trump’s alleged defamation of E. Jean Carroll trial starts. Carroll is seeking at least $10m in damages.

Trial update: Trump’s lawyers are appealing the original verdict. On September 6, 2023 Judge Lewis Kaplan rules that Trump is liable for defamatory comments he made in 2019 and the second civil defamation trial will be limited to determining damages.
