January 2023 overview

Saturn square Uranus in the sky that started in November 2020 and caused so much disruption to people’s lives via the covid-19 pandemic throughout 2021 and 2022; and Jupiter conjunction Neptune in the sky that started February 11, 2022 and caused prices and inflation to spiral throughout the year end in January 2023.

Both aspects reveal just how unprepared the world is when it comes to dealing with unexpected global shocks and governments have 18 months to solve their current social and economic problems before Saturn in the sky moves into orb of a conjunction aspect with Neptune in June 2024.

On January 13, 2023 the 233 day Jupiter cycle that upended the world’s finances ends and a new Jupiter cycle will write the script for Jupiter’s financial, law and religion agenda from then till February 5, 2034.

In January there’s only one aspect in the Mars cycle chart but Mars, via the other major cycle charts, is active throughout the month.

The new Jupiter cycle starts when Jupiter in the sky moves from south to north declination. This occurs at 5.56am GMT on January 13, 2023 but with Jupiter taking 6 minutes and 19 seconds to move one second of declination the time is approximate.

How accurate are the major cycle chart birth times?

Well, they’re more accurate than they were 80 years ago but they’re not absolutely accurate.

The ephemeris makers use the most recent planetary formula provided by organizations like the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab but the birth time of a major global cycle chart, that’s determined by the time the chart’s ruling planet moves from south to north declination, may not be all that accurate.

So the birth time of a major global cycle chart has a margin of error and based on informed comment it seems reasonable to assume that the more distant a planet is from Earth the higher the margin of error.

This means that the margin of error for the Mars cycle birth time would be less than the birth time for the Pluto cycle but whether the margin of error for the Mars cycle is one or five minutes or whether the margin of error for the Pluto cycle is one or thirty minutes is unknown.

You might like to start with a plus or minus 2 minute margin of error for the Mars cycle chart; a plus or minus three minute margin for Jupiter; a plus or minus five minute margin for Saturn; a plus or minus ten minute margin for Uranus; and a plus or minus 30 minute margin for Neptune and Pluto.  But this is all guesswork and at the moment there’s nothing that can be done about it.

A birth time error will influence the structural layout of the chart and can influence a planet’s house position but each planet’s zodiacal position is accurate and so are the start, peak and end dates for their progressed aspects.
