July 15: Ukraine’s military is escalating its push to develop a high-tech (Uranus) ‘Army of Drones’ (Mars).

July 16: Russia’s military announces it is stepping up its attack (Mars) firing missiles and shells (Mars) at cities and towns across Ukraine; and Israeli fighter jets strike a rocket-manufacturing site in central Gaza following rocket launches (Mars) from the Palestinian territory.

Nine people (Moon) are shot dead (Mars-house 8) in Indonesia’s easternmost region of Papua in an attack by armed separatists (Mars-Uranus). 

 Extreme heat grips Europe and China. Thousands of firefighters battle wildfires in Portugal, Spain and southwestern France and dozens of cities across China have issued extreme weather warnings.

July 18: The Acting President of Sri Lanka declares a state of emergency (Mars) amid ongoing protests (Uranus); and Europe scorches in a ferocious heatwave (Mars-Uranus) with wildfires raging out of control in France, Spain, Portugal and Greece.

July 19: The UK records its highest ever temperature when thermometers hit 40.3C at Coningsby in Lincolnshire, while 33 other locations went past the UK’s previous highest temperature of 38.7C.

July 20: Amid mass evacuations (Saturn) firefighters and emergency services (Mars) battle wildfires (Mars) that are raging across swathes of southern Europe.

Hundreds of protestors (Uranus) in Puerto Rico's capital San Juan demand that the island’s government cancel its contract with power grid operator LUMA Energy (Uranus) over chronic power outages (Uranus) and frequent rate hikes; and in Panama ongoing anti-government protests (Uranus) continue as the country battles a financial crisis.

July 23: Following a worldwide upsurge in cases monkeypox (Saturn) is declared a global health emergency (Mars) by the World Health Organization.

Protestors (Uranus) in major cities across Pakistan rally to denounce what they call a ‘theft’ of the mandate of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party in the Punjab provincial assembly; and protestors in Tunis rally to protest against a draft constitution proposed by President Kais Saied, two days before a planned referendum on the charter.

July 24: Wildfires (Mars) rage across Greece as Europe's heatwave spreads east; a state of emergency (Mars) is declared in Mariposa country, California, as the Oak fire blazes out-of-control; and in central Kenya thirty-four people are killed in a bus accident.

July 25: Myanmar’s military government (Mars) executes four anti-coup activists (Uranus), including a close ally of Aung San Suu Kyi.

July 26: In Lagos hundreds of demonstrators (Uranus) march on the first day of a planned three-day nationwide demonstration against the continued closure of Nigerian universities (house 9); and in western India’s Gujarat state at least 28 people die and 60 others became ill after consuming toxic liquor (Mars).

July 27: Hundreds of Iraqi demonstrators (Uranus), mostly supporters of Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr, break into the heavily fortified Green Zone in protest (Uranus) at a rival bloc’s nomination for prime minister.

July 28: In Guinea protests (Uranus) organized by The National Front for the Defence of the Constitution against the military government (Mars) and its handling of plans to return to democracy bring the capital to a standstill.

July 30: In Iraq supporters of powerful cleric Muqtada al-Sadr again storm (Mars) parliament (house 11).

July 31: In Afghanistan the al-Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri (Uranus), is killed in a drone strike carried out by the CIA in the capital, Kabul.

August 1: In Thembisa township, South Africa, at least four people died during angry protests (Mars-Uranus) over the high cost (Jupiter) of electricity (Uranus) and other basic services. Protests over poor services occur regularly in South Africa. Power cuts have become frequent in recent months, as national utility company Eskom battles high debts and a labor strike.

In Johannesburg, South Africa, more than 80 gunmen (Mars) arrested following the gang rape (Mars-Pluto) of eight women on Thursday (July 28) appear before a court (house 9) in what the police minister described as the ‘shame of the nation’.

And in Sierra Leone doctors (Mars) begin an indefinite strike (Uranus) to protest low pay and lack of benefits.

In California the McKinney fire rips through dry terrain wrecking homes and forcing thousands of people to evacuate.

August 2: US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrives in Taiwan saying (Mercury) her visit shows an unwavering commitment to the Chinese-claimed self-ruled island. China condemns the trip and the US navy deploys warships east of Taiwan.

August 3: China begins an unprecedented six days of military exercises (Mars) featuring J-20 stealth fighter jets and test firing of conventional missiles to protest (Uranus) Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

And more than 5,000 soldiers (Mars) from Indonesia, the US and other countries begin their annual joint combat exercises on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, signalling stronger ties amid growing maritime activity by China in the Indo-Pacific region.

August 4: A furious (and irrational) China (Mars) in a large scale military protest (Uranus) deploys scores of planes and fires 11 ballistic missiles (Mars) into waters around Taiwan; and government websites in Taiwan are under cyber attack (Mars-Pluto) from website addresses in China and Russia.

In South Africa thousands of angry (Mars) residents in Krugersdorp attack (Mars) a group (Pluto) of illegal miners (Pluto-Saturn) with machetes, golf clubs and hammers (Mars) after a gang rape (Mars-Pluto) on July 28. They blame the miners for high levels of crime (Pluto-house 12) in the area.

August 5: Israel warplanes attack (Mars) Gaza killing at least 10 people including Taysir al-Jabari, a commander of the al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Jihad.

China halts bilateral processes with the US in eight key areas including defence, narcotics, transnational crime and climate change.

August 6: Israeli air strikes (Mars) pound Gaza for a second day while the militant Islamic Jihad group fires hundreds of rockets (Mars) into Israel. According to the health ministry in Gaza 24 Palestinians have been killed and at least 204 wounded since the shelling began.

Multiple Chinese ships and planes conduct missions (Mars) in the Taiwan Strait.

A bomb blast (Mars) in a busy shopping street in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul kills at least eight people and injures 22.

In Cuba a second fuel storage tank near a supertanker port in Matanzas explodes (Mars) following a blaze (Mars) started by a lightning strike (Uranus) on Friday (August 5).

August 7: Russia again shells (Mars) the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Ukraine damaging three radiation sensors heightening fears (Saturn) of a radiation disaster (Mars).

August 8: The FBI (house 12) executes a search warrant at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence (house 4) with Federal Agents removing boxes of material from the property. It was a major escalation of the classified documents investigation and the first time (Uranus) in American history that a former president’s home (house 4) was searched as part of a criminal investigation (Pluto-house 12).

The South Korean capital, Seoul, is deluged with torrential rain (Saturn) – the worst in 80 years – that knocks out power, triggers landslides (Saturn) and floods (Saturn) homes and the city’s metro system. At least 7 people died and 6 are missing in the disaster (Mars).

August 10: Sierra Leone imposes a nationwide curfew after a day of anti-government protests (Uranus). Protesters threw rocks and burned tyres and two police officers (Mars) and one civilian died in clashes.

Wildfires (Mars) tear through the Gironde region of southwestern France destroying homes and forcing the evacuation of 10,000 residents.

August 11: A first-of-its-kind satellite analysis (Uranus) shows that Antarctica’s coastal glaciers (Saturn-house 4) are shedding icebergs (Saturn) more rapidly (Mars) than nature can replenish the crumbling ice, doubling previous estimates of losses (Saturn) from the world’s largest ice sheet over the past 25 years.

Europe’s largest nuclear power plant (Pluto) in southeastern Ukraine is again struck by shelling (Mars) with Moscow and Kyiv blaming each other.

August 12: In Juarez, Mexico, 11 people are killed in a prison riot (house 12-Mars-Uranus) and shootout (Mars) involving rival cartels (Neptune); in Montenegro 11 people are killed and six injured in a mass shooting (Mars-Pluto); and Indian-born novelist, Salmon Rushdie, is stabbed (Mars) onstage at a lecture in New York state.

August 14: A fire (Mars) tears through a packed Coptic Orthodox church near Egypt’s capital, Cairo, killing 41 worshippers including at least 10 children; and an explosion (Mars) rips through a fireworks (Mars) warehouse in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, killing at least five people and injuring dozens more.

August 18: The number of monkeypox (Mars) cases in America climbs to 13,500 – one-third of the global total.
