Covid-19: The inside story
In December 2020 the Economist reported that during the year the covid-19 pandemic dominated news coverage more than any other story since the second world war; and that in late March (with Mars conjunction Saturn in the sky) 80% of its articles mentioned ‘covid’ or ‘coronavirus’.
2020 – the year the coronavirus pandemic turned upside down – has an astrological explanation. It was timed and explained by astro-events in the Aquarian Age chart and the sky.
Aquarius and the vernal equinox
It’s believed the slow moving vernal equinox (or precessional pointer) times the major astrological events and when it backed into the sign Aquarius on January 19, 1881 it timed the commencement of the Age of Aquarius.
And it’s believed that the progressed aspects it forms with the planets in the Aquarian Age chart (over the next 2148 years) time important chapters in the Aquarius story related to humanity’s mental, emotional and spiritual development: And in May 1986 the equinox moved to form a high discord square aspect with progressed Pluto.
It signalled the start of a precarious-hazardous time defined by drastic global events, international divisions, dictators, coercive control, nuclear weapons, threats, organized crime, corruption, atheistic materialism, subtle forces, inversion, double-speak, misinformation and the suppression of facts. It reached peak power in October 2013 and ends in May 2043.
It’s believed that the timing of the drastic global events the aspect scripts are fine-tuned by progressed aspects involving the progressed planets and Pluto in the Aquarian Age chart and Pluto in the sky.
Prelude to a pandemic: Aquarius 2017-2019
In February 2017 progressed Mars in the Aquarian Age chart – the planet of viral infections – moved to form a parallel aspect with birth chart Saturn – the planet of pandemics > peak power date was August 2020; in April 2018 progressed Mars moved to formed a parallel aspect with progressed Pluto > peak power date is November 2021; and in December 2018 Saturn in the sky moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Pluto. Throughout 2019 Saturn slowly closed in on Pluto and their historic in-sky conjunction occurred January 12, 2020.
China: January 2020
On December 31, 2019 China informed the World Health Organization of a mysterious pneumonia cluster linked to a fish market in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province.
On January 11, 2020 China reported its first death linked to the virus; and on January 12, with Saturn conjunction Pluto in the sky at peak power, the first coronavirus case outside China was reported in Taiwan. On the same day Jupiter in the sky moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Saturn – planet of pandemics. Their historic in-sky conjunction would culminate on December 21, 2020.
On January 20, 2020 Jupiter in the sky moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Pluto and their three in-sky conjunctions were at peak power on April 5, June 30 and November 12, 2020.
In January 2020 all the primary astrological players in the 2020 coronavirus pandemic – Mars parallel Saturn in the Aquarian Age chart and Jupiter conjunction Saturn and Saturn conjunction Pluto in the sky – were active; and on January 30 the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a ‘public-health emergency of international concern’.
On January 7, 2020 progressed Mars parallel birth chart Saturn in the Aquarian Age chart – the astro-marker for the coronavirus pandemic – came under strong stimulation when progressed Moon moved to form an opposition aspect with progressed Mars > peak power date was February 5.
And from January 7 to March 5, 2020 the sub-major Moon stimulation to the major Mars-Saturn parallel aspect timed the coronavirus outbreak and its first-wave spread around the world.
February-March 2020
In February 2020 the number of coronavirus cases spiked in South Korea and Italy; and in March, with progressed Moon parallel progressed Saturn in the Aquarian Age chart and Saturn conjunction Pluto, Jupiter conjunction Saturn and Mars conjunction Pluto in the sky, the virus was spreading rapidly around the globe.
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a global pandemic.
On March 13, 2020 Mars in the sky moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Saturn and by March 30, its peak power date, humanity was in the grip of Saturn’s coronavirus pandemic.
In March 2020 countries announced lockdowns (Pluto); business activity (Jupiter-Saturn) stopped; the cruise liner industry (Jupiter) sank; Europe was the epicentre of the pandemic; Central Banks (Jupiter) pumped money (Jupiter) into their battered economies; and the head of the International Monetary Fund (Jupiter) said the covid-19 pandemic (Saturn) has brought the global economy to a standstill and plunged the world into a recession (Saturn) that will be ‘way worse’ than the global financial crisis a decade ago.
The in-sky Jupiter-Saturn conjunction was destined to reach peak power on December 21, 2020 and in the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction chart Uranus – planet of liberty, disruption and unrest – was square Jupiter and Saturn. And throughout 2020 as Jupiter slowly closed in on Saturn rebellious human actors disobeyed safety measures aimed at protecting themselves and their fellow citizens. Some saw wearing a face mask as an infringement of their personal rights. And the covid-19 case and death counts just kept on rising.
June 2020
On May 25, 2020 Mars in the sky moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Neptune and in America George Floyd was murdered by a Minnesota police officer. Amidst a rampaging coronavirus pandemic a video of the incident went viral igniting Black Lives Matter protests across America and the world.
The in-sky Mars-Neptune conjunction reached peak power on June 13 and the normally dreamy, peaceful Neptune was mad as hell.
Science and technology to the rescue
By March 2020 the coronavirus pandemic was a major global emergency. Humanity was at war with a virus. Doctors, nurses and other front-line workers tended the sick and counted the dead; and humanity soon realized that its best hope in the virus-battle was a vaccine.
The vaccine scientists responded to the challenge (Mars) and the Aquarian Age chart provided fortunate astrological support.
Progressed Mars in the chart was already parallel birth chart Uranus and on May 31, 2020 progressed Mercury – planet of scientists – moved to form a sextile aspect with progressed Uranus – planet of invention, innovation and discovery. It was a fast moving opportunity event that reached peak power on January 26, 2021.
(On January 11, 2020 Chinese researchers had revealed a draft genome of the newly discovered coronavirus and on January 29, 2020, the Institut Pasteur in France sequenced its whole genome.)
On November 9, 2020 US drugmaker Pfizer Inc reported that its experimental covid-19 vaccine is more than 90% effective based on initial trial results; and on November 16 Moderna Inc reported that its experimental covid-19 vaccine is 94.5% effective based on interim data from a late-stage trial.
The vaccines were developed with new technology (Uranus) known as messenger RNA (mRNA): So scientific intelligence (Mercury) and inventiveness (Uranus) here on Earth plugged into the major Mercury-Uranus aspect in the Aquarian Age chart and discovered and produced a vaccine that will have lasting benefits for immunology and humanity.
December 21, 2020
On December 21, 2020 when the in-sky Jupiter-Saturn conjunction reached peak power covid-19 infections were rising in 62 countries; 619,000 new covid infections and 10,700 covid related deaths were reported; the total global case count was at least 76,803,000 and the total global death count was at least 1,694,000; America was reporting 214,031 new infections on average each day; countries around the world including France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Israel, Turkey, Russia, India and Canada shut their borders with Britain due to fears about a highly infectious new strain of the virus; and the US Congress approved an $892 billion coronavirus aid package (Jupiter) throwing a lifeline to the nation’s pandemic-battered economy (Saturn).
Throughout 2020 the in-sky Jupiter-Pluto conjunction launched a thousand financial lifeboats. Without it humanity would have suffered much more than it did although the international cooperation the aspect signed for wasn’t evident.
Then on December 25, 2020 Mars in the sky moved to form a conjunction aspect with Uranus; and by January 20, 2021 when this perilous energy-event reached peak power many countries were again fighting the coronavirus and surging case and death counts.
2020 was a very bad year. Saturn – the planet of pandemics, disease, insecurity and anxiety – saw fear, suffering, grief, unemployment and hardship; and humanity’s mental, emotional and spiritual resilience was stress-tested like never before.
